Thank you!
With a 48% voter turnout from 5th Ward's 1st District, and over 29% voter turnout from the Town of Ithaca's 9th District, I was re-elected to the Tompkins County Legislature on November 8, 2005.
I pledge to stay attuned to your concerns and to continue working to keep our community affordable and its quality of life exceptional.

Building Community in
Tompkins County
As someone who works full-time in addition to my Legislative duties, I'm familiar with the issues working people face, and have promoted innovative, collaborative solutions to our fiscal pressures.
My record is consistent with Democratic values and the needs of our community; valuing diversity, social justice, livable wages, and sustainability. As your representative, I approach policymaking as more than the sum of individual issues and parts. I want to keep the high quality of life in Tompkins County within reach of all of us.
My record:
- I've made tough decisions to balance the tax rate and quality of services, i.e., Airport, TCAT
- As Chair of the Planning Committee, and member of the Industrial Development Agency, I helped bring quality jobs—jobs with good wages and decent benefits—to Tompkins County
- I promote sustainable tourism to maintain the quality of life while bringing in needed revenues to our community
- As a member of the Water Resources Council, I helped preserve the natural beauty of our town and county
- I participate in coalition building to foster cooperation between municipalities
- I value diversity, social justice, livable wages, and sustainability

Dr. Kate Bronfenbrenner, Director of Labor Education Research, Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations
" Kathy knows firsthand the real pressures that working people face, and she has the skills to be effective in creating social justice and a sustainable community."
Herb Engman
Ithaca Town Board
"Kathy's down-to-earth communication, clear thinking, practicality and sensitivity to diversity and quality of life issues make her a uniquely valuable representative. As a woman with a non-traditional job in the trades, she brings her insight to workforce issues, town and gown relations, and the importance of community-based leadership and solutions.
Let's keep her intelligence, compassion and problem-solving abilities in county government."
